county Fair...

The county fair is the books!!!  Jacob did a wonderful job on his projects.  he made tic tac toe game, did some research on walnuts and then some photography for the Exhibit building.  He also took his Polled Hereford Heifer and his Commercial Heifer.  The polled Hereford weighed 1046 and the commercial one weight 1229.  He did a great job showing both didn't complain once about his 5am wake up call on show day.  He won Champion polled Hereford.  He earned 435 at the premium sale tonight.  He did a very good job introducing himself.. Jeremy and I both thought he was one of the best speakers at of all the kids. He also won the 10 year old pedal pull!!!

Joey participated in the pedal pull, coloring contest, made and N for the open exhibit building, and showed Scrappy. He did a great job introducing himself and scrappy and they asked him what trick scrappy does and he told them he kills Rabbits!!!  Scrappy received a nice bath.  He smelled way better but still pretty stinky lol.  Joey was so happy to get a medal for have the shortest animal!!!

Justin placed 2nd in the pedal pull, won a coloring contest and received a new piggy bank with quarters in it, and did lots of playing and running and took a few naps in the camper at the fair.  Oh and I must mention somehow snuck away from Jeremy and I and ended up over in the Contestant part of the rodeo.  he was missing for about an hour.  Come to find out he was with kids he knew the whole time.  Thank goodness for living in a small county!!!

We came home after a long sale it being very hot today.  So we enjoyed a late night swim.  I am hoping a laundry fairy shows up at my house tonight!!!!!

quality time

Joey, Justin and I were able to go spend sometime with my sister Amanda.  Her whole family was gone for the week.  Ethan went to church camp in Okoboji so Jason and the other's went to his parents for a week.

First the boys and I went to the Blank Park Zoo.  I had never taken them there and they loved it.  It was the best time ever.  No screaming or fits or anything.  They loved all the animals and things.

The we went on to Tama, IA. Amanda took us out to Mexican or supper, the boys then helped her shop at Fareway and then we went to her beautiful home and CLEANED and I mean CLEANED...  She told me the kids were so happy to have nice organized rooms when they came home.  Cleaning and cooking are NOT my sister strong points.. I love helping her clean her house...  Of course the boys love her TUB!!!

Buddy their dog laid under the door of my car because he didn't want us to leave.  We played fetch with him for 30 minutes before we left.  Justin adores hi

Times Flies!!!

Well it is almost July 1st. 20 minutes away...  Where has the month of June went.   Well at our house we have had LOTS of rain, ball games, and trips to Des Moines for Dr. visits.....

Jacob has playing on the Minors team in Mt. Ayr this year.  We went to many weekend tournaments and had many games in the evening.  He learn a lot and has met some new friends.  I also met some new mom's that are a lot of fun to be around.  We have a few unplanned pool parties, but they all worked out good.  Nothing like buying 10 packages of Hotdogs/ buns and tell everyone to bring a side.  It was fun times!!!

Justin has had a few procedures/ test done.  One test didn't work the first time so he had to get it done again.  This kid LOVES going to get medical stuff done.  Jeremy and I think he likes it a bit too much!!!  They still haven't given us any answers on Justin.  I told Jeremy as long as he is getting along ok I am just going give him break for a bit.  I fell like his throat is never going to heal if we keep going down it...

Then there is Joey.  Joey had a MRI done on Monday June 15.  He has had a bump on his head since his skull fracture back in Jan. 2014.  Thankfully they called and it came back all good.  Then on Sunday we were in Menards shopping and he was sitting on the shopping cart. The cart got bumped and he flipped off backwards and hit the back of his head.  After 5 hours in the ER they let us go home.  the bump has went down and he is back to climbing.

Jeremy has been trying to get hay put up.  We finally got some baled today right before the rain hit again.  This rainy weather is crazy.  I have been helping Jacob get heifers ready for county fair that starts next wed.  he had 4 tied up but I decided 2 heifers and 3 kids is plenty to deal with.

The boys looking forward to spending the evening of the 4th at Clearfield, doing the pedal pull, and playing in the inflatables.  I just hope we can go a few weeks with NO DR. visits!!!!!

Jacob's awards!!!

Well 4th grade has came to an end!!!  Jacob had the best teacher every Mrs. lynch.  She was so good with him and of course loved my FARM kid.  At awards day he received an award for perfect attendance.  I am very proud of him for this.  Not one day did I have to yell at him to get up or get ready for school.  He is always up and ready and usually woke Jeremy up.  He received an award for scoring high on his basic skills. especially in Science.  He also received a reading award.  I still can't believe he will be in 5th grade, Joey will be Kindergarten and Justin will go to preschool in the afternoons!!!   Jacob also has a special girl named Eva!!!

memorial day weekend!!!

We started of memorial day by celebrating Jeremy's 20 year class reunion.  We enjoy a night of visiting at Fireside and then went out to Fogle lake.  We hired a sitter for the night.  The boys loved her.  The best part was she cleaned the basement!!!

We also attended the Durrell reunion.  Jeremy enjoyed visiting with his Uncle Dennis. Then we went on a nice ride.  Since we have had soo much rain staying home get overwhelming.

The rest of the weekend was spent doing the normal farming chores.  Washing heifers, spraying thistle.  Jeremy has been spending lots of time working on his new farm he bought.
