December already!!!

So life has been a bit wild.  When school started I was looking forward to being home with no kids.  Well I am now a full time sub at the Mt. Ayr High School.  Jacob is 6th, Joey in 1st, and Justin in Kindergarten.  We have all adjusted well.  Except for the getting out bed part but who really wants to get out of bed!!!  Jacob played his last year of Little Raider Football.  Joey and Justin have started wrestling.  Joey is finally loving to read.  Justin is adjusted to Kindergarten.  I will say it wipes him out.  It has  been a big change from 3 hours of school and hanging out with mom or grandma the other part of the day.  To an all day program. Jacob turned 12 in September.  Justin turned 6 in October and Joey will be 7 on the 14th.   Jeremy has been busy as can be hauling fuel.  He drove over 4600 just in November.  I have had to take it slow the last few weeks.  I manage to fracture my foot somehow.  Of course waited to long to go to doctor so it will take longer to heal now.  Then I hurt my back a few days ago.   It is amazing how fast my house was destroyed.  Hopefully I can do a better job keeping up with the blog.  Don't hold me to that!!!!!

Summer 2016

So far this summer has been SOOO WARM!!!  We have been in the pool almost Everyday multiple times.  Except for today it is raining and 62 degrees.  Joey and Justin played Tball they were on the same team.  Jacob did not play ball this year.  He has been working with uncle Dick.  Dick comes to get him around 9 and brings him home around 5.  He has been using Dick dart gun to shoot calves for pink eye, put out mineral, gets groceries and anything else Dick need.  He is also getting ready for the County Fair which starts Wed. the 6th.  We are taking 5 animals.  Jacob is taking  2 heifers, a cow calf pair and then Justin is taking Michaelangelo.  Joey and Justin will show in the pee wee wrangler show.  It will be tons of fun..... (MAYBE).  Jeremy spent almost every free minute he had building fence on the new farm.  He pounded over 150 steel post in by hand. We have not had rain so it was some hard ground!!!  In fact he broke the handle off his post pounder.  IT has just been the normal crazy, busy, loud place!!!

Jacob and Beauty

Jacob is in and advertisement with his heifer Beauty.

This young man, Jacob Novak, is working hard this year with his heifer, Beauty. She will definitely be a beauty with the help of a New Balance Commodities custom blend from starting on feed as a young calf and now as a yearling. Jacob is showing her for Dick Graham of Benton, Iowa. You can find Jacob and Beauty at the Ringgold County Fair, Iowa State Fair 4-H show, and the Iowa State Fair Polled Hereford show. If you stop by the Ringgold County Fair on Saturday, July 9th for the beef show, stop by and see New Balance Commodities!

spring is closer!!!

Not sure where the month of February went!! We have lucked out with pretty nice weather.  Jacob showed in his first Beef Expo.  He received 4th place.  We have started having baby calves.  Of course Jeremy is starting to get busy hauling fuel for farmers.  I was able to get to go with Joey to chaperone his field trip to the civic center.  I have been subbing at the school, have been Justin's room a few times. It seems like the days just fly by!!! We also went and watched the Mt. Ayr raiderettes play at the State tournament!!  Lots of fun.

January 2016

We had a wonderful Christmas.  The boys received so many nice gifts.  Thanks to all of our family for this.  Now it has gotten cold out.  Jacob received his new show heifer from uncle Dick.  So we are breaking her to lead.  I will say way easier to do in the warmer weather!!!  The boys started back to school and I of course I have already been subbing.   My Dad celebrated his birthday on January 8th.  My brother and I gave dad a drone.  The kids all got drones for Christmas from Grandpa and grandma.  Grandpa received a little one and it somehow flew away.  So when Dad opened his present Justin told him "This is your last Drone!!!!  If you lose this one there will be no more.  It will just be gone!!!"  So today Jacob is off helping uncle Dick, Justin went with my parents shopping and Joey and I are getting ready to make cookies.  Jeremy is out hauling bales with no cab tractor in 15 degree temps..  There is never a dull moment here.  Hope everyone is having a great 2016!!!

this and that

Well the month of December has been full of running.  From Christmas concerts, to church events, to wrestling, and to work.  I have been subbing at the school nonstop!!  Of course Joey turned 6!!!  So we had a great party for him.  He celebrated at school with his friends.  I guess I was in a Dinner Theatre for our Church. When the asked me to be in it, they said ohh you will only have a few lines... So I agreed.  Try 50+ lines.  I made it through.  Had lots of fun with old friends and made new friends.  Here is a few pictures to sum up some Dec. events.

Jacob Football came to an end.  Not going to lie we were all ready for our Saturday's to be back.  Jacob learned a lot and we had lots of fun with other parents.
