I never dreamed I would wake up to a text message that Melonie and Chris were going to have their baby. I took off for Methodist in Des Moines. It was a very long labor for Mel. I arrived around noon and Abigail finally arrived at 10:46pm weighing 5lbs 4 oz. She is the most beautiful baby ever. I was so lucky to be able to be there for the whole delivery. She did come a few weeks early as she was only 36 weeks. The original due date was Feb. 19.

this and that!
We have many different things happen in the last few weeks. Jacob has been playing basketball every Saturday morning. Of course we are the EARLY game and have to be there by 8:15 at the latest and usually at least an hour drive!! Last week Justin and I went and took care of my sister's kids. Jason and her went on a trip to Sarasota Florida. She had a medical conference. They loved the warm weather. On Monday Justin had 8 caps and 1 filing on his teeth. They took us to Mercy Medical to have this done. They did an outpatient surgery for it. He is getting along great. After this Saturday we will have a few weeks off from basketball on Saturdays. We are suppose to have a big snowstorm this weekend. The boys are really excited as they want to build a SNOWMAN... I just excited maybe I can get my "farm books" caught up.

2015
So far 2015 has been pretty calm. Of course the first week of school was very cold!! Jeremy has been staying busy hauling fuel, taking care of the cows and just helping me with the boys. Jacob is playing basketball. So we have games every Saturday morning. For some reason we have to play the earliest game and we are the farthest team away. It isn't very fun getting everyone ready to leave the house before 7am.... We lost our dog Ginger last weekend. The boys all miss her. She is in a much better place. Today we actually had some warm weather. Jacob had an early out. They had lots of fun playing outside. They loved feeding the calves and jumping on hay bales. They always some new plan for outside. I just love their imaginations. Jeremy loves that they are all about the cows!!!

Christmas 2014
We spent Christmas Eve with the Graham side of the family. On Christmas we went to Amy's parents and then came home after lunch and the boys opened their presents. Jeremy and I cut back drastically this year. the boys still had a wonderful Christmas!!!! Paying cash for Christmas is so nice. We won't have to watch for those lovely bills in January. Jeremy and I were very Thankful for everyone that buys our boys gifts. And our gifts too. We are always so glad to see Christmas go!!! As Jeremy says he doesn't hate Christmas just hate how commercialized it has become. Our funny for Christmas was we got a new tv. So Jeremy hauled it home in his Grandpa Bus old chevette. it old him the tv is worth more than the car!!!!
Jeremy's funny quote's for the day.
I wish Christmas would come like leap year ....
Joey says "Dad will you open up the new tractor Adam got me" Jeremy said well how about just push it around in he box then it will stay nice!!!!

Joey's 5th Birthday!!!!
Joey turned 5 on December 14. Of course we had a party planned for Dec. 13 and I was terrible sick. So as it seems to always happen we had to postpone Joey's birthday. So for Joey's real birthday we went to watch Jacob in the Church Christmas Program and then came home and spent all day playing with his toys. Jeremy made Joey a cake for his real birthday. Nothing fancy but Joey was glad to have a cake. We ended up having his party on the following Wed. night. He had so much fun and the best gift he received was Jeremy made his REAL birthday cake to. He did a very good job on decorating. Joey had lots of fun turning 5!!!!

our niece Mady.
My brothers step daughter Mady found she has a cancer spot behind here knee. They are also going to do a biopsy on her lungs as they found a few spots on them. She is 15 years old and was LOVING being in high school. She had just started cheerleading for the basketball team this year... We are hoping for the best.
Justin illness.
Justin woke up one night not able to breathe. He was taken to the ER, where they though he had an ear infection. So we came at 3am and then the next morning he woke up struggling again. So we went to the pediatrician. They gave he some steroids and he was soo much better. The next morning he woke up breathing very bad. We called the pediatrician and she said get him to the closest ER. After Justin quit breathing in the ER. They decided we should go elsewhere. So we ended up at blank. Justin and I rode in the ambulance. Once we got there we spend a few hours in the ER. They gave him breathing treatments and more steroids. Well he did good for the couple hours but then started going down hill. So we were admitted to the hospital on the Peds floor. So very early the next morning he was becoming very wore out not able to breathe. They moves him to the peds ICU. Once we arrived there. He quit breathing again. After he was stable they looked down his throat to check for blockages and the started him on Helium and oxygen. That help for awhile. Jeremy and I thought Justin was getting better. He was all of sudden working way to hard to breathe. So then we all of sudden had about 15 people in his room and they were going to put him on the ventilator. When they put him on the vent they check down his throat again. He airway was swelling such due to an infection. They told us he has tracheaitis ( which is a very freak thing to get), that was causing all the problems. After 5 days on the vent they did another scoop down his throat and everything looked much better. So they started weaning him off the vent. They told us this could take anywhere from 2-8 days. Well not with Justin he was off in 4 hours. He was completely off oxygen in less than 24 hours. Thanksgiving morning the Dr.s came in and said if you feel comfortable taking him home he can go. He just need to rest and he will do that better at home!! I will have to say I have seen all 3 of my kids on a vent, but seeing Justin on it was the hardest. Very hard to watch your child lay there for 5 days and not move or talk. We are very thankful he is all better. We have been told by the PICU Dr.'s and our pediatricians that we are very lucky to have Justin. They said things could have easily ended up differently.
